Wanindu Hasaranga, a Sri Lanka cricket player is popular for his good batting skills in limited overs cricket. Wanindu was born on 14th December 1994 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. He started playing cricket at the age of 10 and represented Kandy District in school level tournaments.

He made his first-class debut for Ruhuna Cricket Club in the Premier League Tournament against Nondescripts Cricket Club on 15th January 2016. After making a few appearances for Ruhuna Cricket Club, he signed up with Western Province Cricket Club for the 2017–18 season. In February 2018, he was named in the Sri Lanka squad for their Twenty20 series against Bangladesh later that month.

Wanindu has also been part of the Sri Lanka A team and played 3 T20Is against India A in August 2018.

Wanindu’s father, Dinesh Kumar, said: “We are looking forward to organising a very special birthday party for our son. He has worked extremely hard to achieve what he has and we want to show our appreciation by celebrating his day with him.”
