Pakistan vs South Africa T-20 World cup 2022

Sydney Cricket Ground will be hosting Pakistan and South Africa for a clash on 3 Nov 2022. This match would be the 36th match of the T20 World Cup 2022 and would begin at 7:00pm local time and 1:30pm IST

Pakistan: Babar Azam (c), Shadab Khan, Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Wasim, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood, Usman Qadir

South Africa: Temba Bavuma (c), Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, Reeza Hendricks, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Wayne Parnell, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Rillee Rossouw, Tabraiz Shamsi, Tristan Stubbs

The Pakistani team’s record against South Africa in the ODI format is horrible. South Africa has 51 wins against Pakistan out of 82 matches that have been played between these two while Pakistan has only 30 wins. While in the T20 format, Pakistan is just little ahead of South Africa with 11 wins out of 21 wins.

The Pakistani team has been consistently performing in the T20 format from the previous few years. Pakistani captain, Babar Azam, is a magnificent player who has emerged as the main player of the Pakistani team. He was no 1 batsman in the T20 rankings but just few days ago, Muhammad Rizwan, another brilliant player of the Pakistani cricket team, replaced Babar Azam. Rizwan is averaging more than 71 in the T20 format since 2021 and has been a brilliant opener. The middle order will be handled by Haider Ali, Shadab Khan, Asif Ali and Khushdil Shah or maybe Iftikhar Ahmad.

Muhammad Nawaz, as we have seen in the Asia Cup 2022, can score some important runs for his team if needed. Shadab Khan and Muhammad Nawaz are very fine all-rounders. Pakistani pace bowling is world famous these days. With the return of Shaheen Afridi in the team, the pace bowling department of the Pakistani team will become more lethal. Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah and Muhammad Hasnain, all these bowlers can easily bowl above 140kph. This combination of lethal bowling and batting attack, makes Pakistan a very dangerous side in the T20 World Cup.

South African team up to now has played 157 T20s, South Africa was victorious in 91 matches while 57 were lost by them and 1 ended in a tie. South African is a well-balanced side in the T20 format, though their performance in the last 3 years has not been so good.

The prominent batters from the current South African squad are Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram. Reeza Hendricks has averaged 34.45 since last one year. He has 379 runs in 11 innings while Aiden Markram has 296 runs in 8 innings at a blistering average of 59.20.While the presence of David Miller and Rillee Rossouw in the middle order makes its batting lineup strong.

Their top wicket takers are Tabraiz Shamsi, Dwaine Pretorius and Anrich Nortje. Tabraiz Shamsi is on 2nd spot of Men’s T20 bowling rankings. He has 20 wickets in 14 matches. He is a brilliant spin bowler. Anrich Nortje is a fine pace bowler from South Africa and has 14 wickets in 10 innings. Kagiso Rabada will be another matchmaker for the South African team while Wayne Parnell shouldn’t be ignored, as he can swing the ball nicely as well.

Pakistan vs South Africa T-20 World cup Match Prediction

It’s very tough to say who’ll win out of these two but Pakistan have a slight edge over South Africa when it comes to pace bowling and power hitting. So, Pakistan has a slightly better chance to win this match but South Africa can surprise Pakistan on the match day.
