Glenn James Maxwell (born 10 December 1988 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian cricketer who currently plays for the Sydney Thunder. He is a right-handed batsman and an occasional wicket-keeper.He has been a regular member of the Australian cricket team . Maxwell made his first-class debut for New South Wales against Queensland at the Gabba in 2006–07. In the following season, he made his List A debut for the state against Tasmania at Bellerive Oval. He also appeared for NSW in two T20Is against Sri Lanka in 2007 and India in 2008, as well as playing one match each for Western Australia and Victoria in the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash League that season.

In 2009–10, Maxwell played domestic cricket with Melbourne Stars in the T20 Big Bash League. The following season, he was signed by the Rajasthan Royals team of IPL Churchill Cup where he played 4 matches and scored 118 runs from 6 innings with a high score of 38 not out from 16 balls against Essex. He then returned to Australia to play for Sutherland Sharks in the Ryobi One Day Cup before signing with new Sydney club team Thunder for their inaugural season in 2012–13 BBL championship. In total, Maxwell has played 169 first-class matches and 31 List A matches since making his debut in 2006–07. He has also represented Australia at Under-19 level during the 2004 ICC World Qualifier tournament held in Sri Lanka and at Under-23 level during the 2010 ACC Trophy.

Glenn James Maxwell was born on January 1, 1982 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He is a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper. Maxwell made his cricketing debut for Victoria in 2001 at the age of 16. In 2002, he made his international debut for Australia and has since played 34 Tests and 108 ODIs. Maxwell has also represented Australia in two T20Is. His most successful season to date came in 2007 when he scored 2182 runs at an average of 54.37 including six centuries and five half-centuries. Maxwell is one of only four Australian players to score two centuries in an ODI innings and the only player to score a century against every team in the world.

Maxwell made his first-class debut for New South Wales against Queensland at the Gabba on 15 January 2006. Maxwell took 2/39 from 10 overs, as New South Wales lost by 158 runs. Maxwell also played in the 2006–07 Ford Trophy, taking 5/48 from 14 overs against Western Australia. In the 2007–08 Sheffield Shield season, Maxwell played for both Sydney University and North Sydney. In Sydney University’s first match of the season, against Queensland at the SCG, Maxwell scored 38 not out off 57 balls to help his team to a draw. Maxwell then took 4/61 from 18 overs in North Sydney’s victory over Tasmania at Bellerive Oval two weeks later. In January 2008, Maxwell signed with Melbourne side Melbourne Victory for the remainder of the 2007–08 A-League Season. He made his debut for Melbourne Victory in their opening match of the season, against Perth Glory at nib Stadium on 8 March 2008. Maxwell took 2/30 from 10 overs to help Melbourne Victory to a 114 run victory over Perth Glory. On 17 August 2009 it was announced that Glenn had signed with English side Durham for the 2009 Twenty20 Cup and 2009 County Championship seasons

Maxwell was born on 14 October 1984 in Sydney, New South Wales to parents Wayne and Lynnette Maxwell. He attended Woodhaugh College and play for the school cricket team before progressing to Second XI cricket for New South Wales. In 2003, he made his first-class debut for New South Wales against Tasmania at Bellerive Oval.

In 2006, Maxwell joined Melbourne Stars as their second-string bowler, but made a name for himself during the 2007–08 season when he took 21 wickets at 22.72 including 5–39 against Queensland at home. The following year, he cemented his place in the side by taking 37 wickets (including 7–17 against Victoria) at 25.21 and being named player of the tournament at the 2008–09 WACA National Cricket League competition. His performances saw him become one of Melbourne Stars’ marquee players and he continued to be a key member of the side until he was struck down with a shoulder injury which ruled him out of action for most of the 2010–11 season.

In January 2012, Maxwell tested positive for cocaine after being stopped by police on suspicion of drink driving; this led to him being banned from cricket for two years by Cricket Australia (CA).

Maxwell was born on 21st December 1988 in Melbourne, Victoria. He started playing cricket at a young age and represented his school as well as the Melbourne Cricket Association (MCA) junior representative team. Maxwell made his first-class debut for Victoria in 2006 and has since played for Victoria, Australia, Middlesex, Essex and Hampshire. In 2009 he was named in the Australian squad for the ICC World Twenty20 tournament in England. He made his international debut against Sri Lanka later that year and scored 38 runs from 30 balls before being dismissed by Tillakaratne Dilshan. In 2011 Maxwell was named in the Marylebone Cricket Club’s (MCC) Academy squad which toured New Zealand. In 2013 he again featured in the Australian squad for the ICC World Twenty20 tournament but this time failed to make an impact with bat or ball scoring just 7 runs from 8 innings. In 2014 he signed a two-year contract with English county side Hampshire which will see him play until 2018.
