The home ground of the Sydney Sixers, Sydney Cricket Ground was built 174 years ago in 1848. It is owned by the Sydney cricket ground trust.

The Sydney cricket ground has a capacity of 48000. It is Australia’s one of premier stadiums and hosts all three formats of cricket and some other sports as well.

Unlike MCG, it doesn’t host drop-in pitches and surprisingly it is one of the very few stadiums in Australia which favours spinners more than pacers. The very first test match played here was between England and Australia in 1882. Though it has the capacity of 48k people, the largest attendance in a cricket match here was 58,446.

Same as the test match, Australia and England played the very first ODI and T20I here in 1979 and 2007 respectively.

The pitch here is considered a batting friendly pitch that’s why the average first innings score here in T20Is is 160. Team batting first gets the advantage here. It hosted the semi-final of 1992 World Cup as well.
