Obed Mccoy West (born 21 October 1981) is a New Zealand international cricketer who played for the Canterbury Crusaders. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off break bowler. West made his first-class debut for Canterbury in 2000, and he made his Test debut for New Zealand in 2004. In 2007, he was named the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Emerging Player of the Year. West has also won two Man of The Series awards, one as part of the New Zealand Test side in 2006–07 and one with Canterbury in 2010–11. West represented New Zealand in all three forms of international cricket until February 2013 when he announced his retirement from international cricket.
