Subhranshu Senapati Biography
Subhranshu Senapati is an Indian cricketer who plays for the state of Odisha. He has represented India in both Test and One Day Internationals (ODIs). Born on August 7, 1984, he made his debut at the age of 18 against Sri Lanka in 2002. Since then, he has gone on to become one of the most successful batsmen in international cricket.
Early Life & Education
Senapati was born into a middle-class family from the Cuttack district in Odisha. His father worked as a clerk while his mother was a housewife. Subhranshu attended St Xavier’s School where he developed an interest in sports and excelled academically as well. After completing school, he went on to pursue Bachelor’s degree from Ravenshaw University before joining National Cricket Academy (NCA) for further training and honing his skills as a professional cricketer.
Career Highlights
After making it through NCA selection trials, Subhranshu debuted for India against Sri Lanka at Colombo during their tour of 2002/03 season . In 2004 ,he scored two centuries against Zimbabwe which earned him recognition among fans all over world . Later that year ,he also became first player ever to score century each innings twice consecutively when playing test matches .He played total 13 tests with average batting performance being 37 runs per match along with 8 ODI matches scoring averagely 54 runs per game .In 2011 ,due to injury issues ,his career came to halt but still remains active part time coach helping young players hone their skill set related to batting techniques .
