Pant made his first-class debut for Delhi in 2016 and his international debut for India in 2018. He was included in India’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup but did not play any matches during the tournament. In January 2020, he was awarded the Test cap number 300 by captain Virat Kohli, becoming the youngest player to receive the Test cap number 300.
