Sri Lanka vs Namibia
Sri Lanka vs Namibia qualifier match will be played on 16 October 2022 at IST 9:30pm and local time of 3:00pm in the Kardinia Park Stadium, Geelong. It will be the very first match of the group stage. This ground has not hosted that much of cricket. So, it’s difficult to tell what kind of conditions will be there.

Sri Lanka and Namibia have not played that much of cricket in any format. Thus far, they have been against each other in only 1 T20 and that was won by Sri Lanka. This will be the second time they would be playing against each other in the T20 format

T20 World cup 2022 will be commencing on 16 October 2022 and this match will be the opening match. Sri Lanka and Namibia have only played 1 T20 match against each other and that match was won by Sri Lanka. In the ODI and Test format, they still have not played a single game against each other.
As we had seen last year, the Namibian team performed brilliantly in the group stage matches and qualified for the 1st time in the T20 World Cup. They were appreciated by the cricketing fraternity. They will be playing qualifiers this year as well to qualify for the Super 12. Their first challenge will be to defeat the in-form Sri Lankan team. It will be one hell of a task to defeat Sri Lanka as we have seen the performance of the Sri Lankan team in the Asia Cup 2022.
Most of the Sri Lankan players are in their ideal form. From Kusal Mendis, who can provide explosive opening overs with the bat, to Wanindu Hasaranga, who is an brilliant all-rounder. Hasaranga was the 2nd highest wicket taker in the Asia Cup 2022. Bhanuka Rajapaksa provides Sri Lanka with much needed firepower in the middle order. Captain Shanaka is a wonderful player too. Pramod Madhushan is a right arm medium pacer and can bowl nicely.
Out of the 5 matches the Namibian team played in the super 12 of 2021 T20 world cup, they had won only 1. The Namibian team is new to this sport. In 2021, it was their 1st time playing any big cricketing event. They have some fresh talent which is lacking exposure to international cricket. Their captain Gerhard Erasmus is a fine player who has 927 runs in 38 T20s with an average of 34.33 and strike rate of 131.48. He also holds a century in this format.
David Wiese who was a South African player, played from Namibian side in the 2021 T20 world cup. Wiese has 496 runs in 40 innings with a strike rate of 134.1 and has an average of 26.1. Ruben Trumpelmann is a left arm fast bowler of the Namibian team. Though He does not have a good bowling record, he can bowl nicely. Craig George William is a right-Handed Batsman with an average of 27.6 in 37 T20s with 855 runs. He is a fine batter too. All these players will be crucial for Namibia.
PREDICTION
Keeping in view the recent performances of both teams, we can simply say that Sri Lankan team looks favorite for this contest.
