He debuted in first class cricket in 2018, when he played for his city’s team in the Regional 4-day Tournament. Naveen had the honour of leading the Under-19 team of Afghanistan in the Under-19 Asia Cup 2016 and was named in the squad for Under-19 World Cup as well in the same year.
Though he had made his debut for the senior Afghanistan side, he was again asked to play in the Under-19 team for the World Cup in 2018. Naveen still hasn’t played much cricket.
