MS Dhoni is one of the most successful cricket players in Indian history. He has achieved numerous records, captained his team to victory on many occasions, and was even named captain of the IPL 2023 squad. In this article, we will take a look at his life and career so far.

MS Dhoni Early Life

Dhoni was born in Ranchi, Jharkhand on July 7th 1981. As a child, he enjoyed playing badminton and football but it wasn’t until he joined a school that he began to show an interest in cricket as well. After excelling in local tournaments, he made his debut for Bihar Under-19s during the 1998/99 season where he scored 176 runs off just 103 balls against Assam Under-19s. This performance earned him selection into the National Cricket Academy (NCA) which helped launch his professional career with Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

MS Dhoni Career Highlights

International Debut: Dhoni made his international debut for India against Bangladesh in December 2004 where he scored 148 not out from 123 deliveries; making him only the third player ever to score a century on their ODI debut after Sachin Tendulkar & Sourav Ganguly respectively.

MS Dhoni World Cup Wins

During 2011 ICC World Cup final match between India vs Sri Lanka held at Wankhede Stadium Mumbai ,he hit 91*runs off 79balls leading Team India towards its first world cup win since 1983 .He also led Team India towards another world cup win by winning 2013 Champions Trophy held at Edgbaston Birmingham UK .

MS Dhoni Captaincy Records

In 2007 T20 WC finals,India won over Pakistan under MS Dhonis leadership becoming 1st country ever to win both 50 overs & T20 format WC’s .His record as Test captain stands second best behind Ricky Ponting who had 48 wins while MS dhoni had 27 wins out of 60 matches played as test captain .Under His captainship CSK became 3 times champions & 4 times runner ups till date being highest trophy winner among all teams participating in IPL tournament series since 2008 till now 2021 edition .

IPL 2023 Selection: On April 5th 2021 BCCI announced M S DHONI’S name alongwith other 15 members selected for upcoming IPL 2023 scheduled to be hosted by UAE due covid 19 pandemic situation prevailing globally including INDIA too!


Throughout his illustrious career spanning 17 years so far, M S DHONI has been able achieve several milestones such as breaking batting records or creating new ones like fastest stumping, etc.It can be said without any doubt that M S DHONI is undoubtedly one of the greatest cricketers india have produced yet!
