Born on July 21, 1990, Lahiru Kumara is a left-handed batsman who predominantly plays as an opener. He played for Central Districts in the Provincial One-Day Competition before making his international debut in 2011. In June 2018, he was one of six players to be awarded a central contract by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Afghanistan on 10 September 2018.
