Kariyawasam Indipalage Charith Asalanka is a Sri Lanka cricketer who has been playing for the national team since 2015. He made his international debut in November of that year and, since then, he’s racked up a number of impressive stats. Early life and career of Kariyawasam Indipalage Charith Asalanka

Born on the 28th of February 1978 in Kariyawasam, a small village located in the Hambantota district of Sri Lanka, Kariyawasam Indipalage Charith Asalanka was always destined to pursue a career in cricket.

Charith Asalanka began playing cricket at a young age and quickly became one of the country’s most promising talents. In 1998, he made his first-class debut for Sri Lanka A against India A and impressed with his aggressive batting style.

In 1999, Asalanka signed with Rangana Herath’s dominated domestic side Nondescripts Cricket Club and enjoyed some fruitful years there. He scored over 1,000 runs in each of his first three seasons and helped Nondescripts win the 2000–01 Premier Trophy.

In 2002, Asalanka transferred to Tamil Nadu Rhinos and enjoyed even more success. He scored over 2,000 runs in both of his first two seasons with the team and helped them clinch back-to-back Super League titles.

In 2004, Asalanka moved to Australia to play for Redbacks Gettysburg Eagles where he again excelled. He scored over 1,500 runs in each of his two seasons with the team and helped them win the 2005–06 KFC Big Bash League title.

Kariyawasam Indipalage Charith Asalanka is a Sri Lanka cricketer who has represented the country in international cricket.
