Hong kong cricket team is new to this game, and this seems to be true as they have only played 53 T20s. They could only win 21 and lose 32. One match ended in a tie. Nonetheless, the Hong Kong team is still immature in the T20s. They don’t have any great talented players because they don’t have a proper system to find great talent. Most of the players in the Hong Kong squad are Pakistanis or Indians.
It’s true that Hong kong cricket team is an unbalanced side but still it has some fine players. Nizakat Khan and Babar Hayat are examples of this. Nizakat Khan and Babar Hayat has an average of 29.5 and 19.95 respectively. These aren’t very great numbers but that’s what Hong Kong got while in the bowling department Yasim Mirza is the best, they got with the economy rate of 5.8. Nizakat Khan can bowl as well. Zeeshan Ali can bat too as he has 131 runs in 9 matches with an average of 26.2.
Muhammad Ghazanfar has 14 wickets in 14 matches with an economy rate of 6.15. Ayush Shukla, another fast bowler of Hong Kong team has 6 wickets in 6 matches with an economy rate of 8.52. Aizaz Khan has 428 runs in 48 matches with just an Average of 13.1. These numbers are bad. They had a very bad start to Asia Cup 2022 as they los their first match against India.
Hong kong cricket team still has a long way to go. They have lots of improvements to make. This current squad will not be able to compete against any balanced side.
