Fazalhaq Farooqi’s journey from facing difficulties to even watching a cricket match on a TV to being watched by hundreds and thousands on TV, is an inspiring one. Farooqi was born in Baghlan, Afghanistan. His family didn’t even have a TV. He had a passion to become a Cricketer from a very young age even though cricket was not so much famous in the area where he lived.
But eventually he started playing cricket. He is a left arm fast medium bowler who made his debut in 2021. He first came to the news when he gave extraordinary performances in the Under-19 World Cup 2020. He took 2 wickets against South African Under-19 team in a match. He remained very economical throughout the tournament. Prior to that, he had played in several local domestic leagues. Farooqi was the net bowler of CSK in IPL 2021. It really was a big opportunity for him as he got an opportunity to bowl to the likes of Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina and Dhoni.
