Born in the capital city of Afghanistan, Kabul , Naveen-ul-Haq is a right arm fast medium bowler of the Afghanistan team. Naveen played his maiden international match in 2016. He debuted in first class cricket in 2018, when he played for his city’s team in the Regional 4-day Tournament. Naveen had the honour of leading the Under-19 team of Afghanistan in the Under-19 Asia Cup 2016 and was named in the squad for Under-19 World Cup as well in the same year.
Though he had made his debut for the senior Afghanistan side, he was again asked to play in the Under-19 team for the World Cup in 2018. Naveen still hasn’t played much cricket. In the match against Pakistan at T20 World Cup 2021, he took an important wicket of Shoaib Malik at a very crucial moment and remained economical with his spell. Naveen generates a good amount of pace and there is slight movement too in his bowling.
