The prodigy of Rising Stars in the Logan Cup 2017-18, Tony Munyonga made his international debut for Zimbabwe in 2022 at the age of 23. Munyonga gradually progressed into the national side. He first played for the Under-19 team and then from there got promoted into the senior side.
Munyonga is a vivid batter with an ability to score big runs. He played the 2018 Pro 50 Championship for the Rising Stars and ended the tournament as the player of the series. His team won the trophy and in the final match against Mountaineers, he scored 65 match unbeaten runs. In another match against Mashonaland Eagles, he scored 74 runs.
He impressed the selectors and got noticed as well. He was called for the ODI series against UAE in 2019 but didn’t play any match. But in the same year, he made his debut against Bangladesh. That was his maiden T20I match as well. Munyonga looks promising and a dynamic batter.
