Pinnaduwage Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva was born on the 22nd of October 1990 in Bandaragama, Sri Lanka. He made his first-class debut for Saracens FC at the age of 17, and later represented Sri Lanka A. Pinnaduwage has since played for a variety of counties including Essex, Nottinghamshire, Middlesex and Surrey, amassing over 2,500 runs from just over 50 first-class matches. He has also represented Sri Lanka in two T20Is and one ODI.
In November 2018, Pinnaduwage was named in the England squad for the series against Sri Lanka.

Biography
Wanindu de Silva was born on November 18, 1992 in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka. He is a left-handed batsman and bowls left-arm orthodox. Wanindu made his first-class debut for Ruhuna XI in the 2010–11 season of the Premier Trophy. He made his List A debut for Ruhuna XI in the 2011–12 Premier Trophy. In August 2014, he signed a two-year contract with Western Province. In March 2017, he transferred to Colombo Cricket Club. Wanindu made his Twenty20 debut for Western Province in the 2017–18 Premier Twenty20 Tournament.

As a young cricketer, Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva had to face the many challenges that come with being an aspiring sportsperson in Sri Lanka. From early morning practices in the blistering heat of Colombo to long bus rides to away fixtures, the 19-year-old was up for it all.
And then there were the injuries…
“I have been injured so much that I have lost count,” he says. “In fact, I think I have been injured for about 70% of my cricketing career.”
Despite all this, Wanindu never gave up on his dream and fought back with determination and resilience. He became one of Sri Lanka’s most promising youngsters and made his Test debut against New Zealand in April 2017. Since then he has performed consistently well and is now tipped as one of the country’s brightest prospects for the future.
Wanindu credits his family and friends for theirsupport throughout his career. “Without them, I would not be where I am today,” he says. “They are always there to encourage me when things get tough.”
Regardless of whether he is playing domestic cricket or representing his country at international level, Wanindu enjoys spending time with family and friends. “I love spending time with them,” he says, “especially during my holidays.” In addition to enjoying a relaxed lifestyle away from cricketing commitments, Wanindu also likes cooking and trying new cuisine experiences.
