Adil Rashid was born in London on October 26th 1988 to a Pakistani father and English mother. He played cricket for several years as a junior before making his first-class debut for Durham in 2008. He has since played for Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lancashire, reaching the international stage in 2013 when he represented England A against the touring Sri Lankans. In August of that year he made his debut for England, playing against Pakistan at The Oval. Rashid has also played for the Bangladesh national team, making his debut in September 2016.

Rashid was born on 15 November 1992, in Westgate, Bradford, Yorkshire, England. He started playing cricket at a young age and attended Thornton School where he developed his bowling skills. After leaving school, Rashid worked as an apprentice mechanic before signing up with Essex County Cricket Club in 2012.
During his time with Essex, Rashid played 49 matches and picked up 89 wickets at an average of 29.68.
