Brother of one of the most iconic batsmen to emerge from Zimbabwe Hamilton Masakadza, Wellington Masakadza played for the Under-19 team in 2012 World Cup. He is a left arm orthodox spin bowler. Masakadza played the 2013-14 Logan Cup and just on his debut match in that event, he took 5 wickets for 63 runs and ended the tournament with 15 wickets. Masakadza was proving to be an extraordinary bowler.
The very same year, he was named in the Zimbabwe A team squad for their series against Bangladesh where he took 6 wickets for 63 runs. Masakadza earned a place in the senior side after all these performances but didn’t play any matches that year.
But his debut didn’t take long and just next year, he played his maiden ODI match against Ireland. His first impactful international performance came against Afghanistan in 2015-16 where he took 4 wickets for 21 runs that are his best bowling figures in the ODIs.
