Devon Conway was born on the 6th of October 1994 in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. Devon started playing cricket at a very young age, being a part of his local club’s junior cricket team from a young age onwards. Conway went on to play for Wellington until 2016 and during this time he also had stints with Otago, Canterbury, Northern Districts and Central Districts. The South African born, left handed aggressive top order batsman who once used to play in the South African domestic cricket. But then he decided to move to New Zealand to pursue his passion of playing cricket.

Conway earned a contract from the Wellington firebirds for the 2018-19 season. He scored a double century in the Plunket Shield season 2018-19 against Otago Volts. Conway was the leading run scorer of the Plunket Shield with 659 runs in 7 matches.

Conway scored a triple century in the 2019-20 in Plunket Shield season. He also holds the record of scoring most runs in a single first class match in New Zealand. He also got a chance to play in the IPL when Chennai Super Kings bought him in the auction for IPL 2022.

In late 2020, he made his T20I debut against West Indies and the very next year made his ODI debut as well against Bangladesh. He scored his maiden ODI century in the same series showcasing his brilliance. As if this wasn’t enough, Conway scored a double century on his debut match against England.
