Having made his debut for the senior side in 2019, Qais Ahmad, the right-arm leg spin bowler, played for the Under-19 team prior to this. Qais displayed absolutely brilliant bowling and was able to take 14 dismissals to his name. Qais played his first international match against Bangladesh in 2019. It was a test match.
Qais still hasn’t played many international matches but the talent that he got, he’ll have a long successful career. He is a new addition to the already world class spin bowling attack of the Afghanistan team. It seems that Afghanistan is now officially the producer of world class spinners.
Qais has got 68 wickets in first class cricket and has a very fine average and economy rate. He got the best figure of 7/41 in a first class match which still remains his best performance till to date. Qais has played in several cricket leagues around the World such as PSL, BBL, BPL, CPL and LPL.
His 5 wickets haul, while playing for Balkh Legends, in the final of Afghanistan Premier League in 2018, shed some light on him. His team won the title that year and he got some recognition due to his astounding performance.
