England Cricket Team is one of the oldest teams in the sport. The first Test Cricket match was played between Australia and England in 1877. In international cricket, England Cricket Team represents England and Wales and has been governed by England and Wales Cricket Board since 1997. Until the 1990s, Scottish and Irish players also played for England as those countries were not yet ICC members in their own right.
TheEngland also played the first-ever one-day international against Australia on 5th January 1971. The England played their first T20 game also against Australia on 13th June 2005.
England has so far made 1028 Test appearances, in which they secured wins in 374 games and lost 305 games. 349 matches ended in draws. As far as their ODI record is concerned, they have played 751 games, winning 378 matches. They appeared in 4 World Cup finals. Recently, they etched their name in the record books after winning their first-ever World Cup title in 2019.
England has played 125 T20Is, winning 63. They won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2010 and were runners-up in 2016.
