The first big moment in T20 for Pakistan came when Pakistan won the world Cup in 2009. It was the second edition of the World Cup and Pakistan managed to win it by defeating Sri Lanka by 8 wickets. Shahid Afridi who has been one of the best players from Pakistani side in T20, scored a marvellous 50. After that Pakistan never won a World Cup but kept on giving good performances in T20s. They lost some of the matches and won some. The current Pakistani Team has some of the best players in T20 right now.

The Top two best T20 batsmen in the world right now are two Pakistanis, Babar Azam on no 1 spot and Mohammad Rizwan on no 2 spots.

Babar Azam is a star that keeps on shining for PCT. Babar Azam has most runs in T20s from Pakistani side. He has 2696 runs in 70 innings with an average of 44.93, Strike Rate of 129.36, twenty-six fifties and 1 hundred. These are remarkable numbers.

Talking about Muhammad Rizwan, in recent few years, he has improved his game alot. In the T20 World Cup of 2021, his performance remained exceptional throughout the tournament. In the semi-final against India, he scored 67 valuable runs. Moreover, he also holds the record for most runs in a calendar year by any batsmen.

Before Babar Azam, Safaraz Ahmad led the Pakistani team in T20s and he is considered one of the best captains and rightly so because under his command, Pakistan won 11 T20s series consecutively, which is a world record that still remains unbeaten. Shahid Afridi still remains one of the best T20 player. He is on no 1 spot who took most wickets from Pakistani side in T20s.

The current Pakistani team has some exceptional talent in the form of Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, the speed gun Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and the power hitter Asif Ali in the middle order. Their recent performances show that they are the best Pakistan got. Shaheen Afridi remained a nightmare for batsmen throughout the T20 World Cup 2021. He is an expert in taking early wickets. Asif Ali made his name prominent by his remarkable power hitting. Shadab has one of the best economy rates in the spin bowling department from Pakistan. The Pakistani team needs to continue this performance and keep on working on these boys so that they can become more lethal. Though Pakistan’s opening match in Asia Cup 2025 didn’t go well, they’ll surely make a comeback.
