Pakistan vs Bangladesh T-20 World cup 2022

The 41st match of the T20 World Cup 2022 will be played between Pakistan and Bangladesh. The hosting ground will be Adelaide Oval and the match will officially begin at 9:30pm IST and 2:30pm local time.

Pakistan: Babar Azam (c), Shadab Khan, Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Wasim, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood, Usman Qadir

Bangladesh: Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Afif Hossain, Mossadek Hossain, Litton Das, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Saifuddin, Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain, Hasan Mahmud, Najmul Hossain, Nasum Ahmed.

There have been 37 ODI clashes between these two cricket playing nations, 32 were won by Pakistan and 5 by Bangladesh while with 13 wins out of 15 T20 matches played till now, Pakistan is in lead against Bangladesh.

The Pakistani team has been consistently performing in the T20 format from the previous few years. Pakistani captain, Babar Azam, is a magnificent player who has emerged as the main player of the Pakistani team. He was no 1 batsman in the T20 rankings but just few days ago, Muhammad Rizwan, another brilliant player of the Pakistani cricket team, replaced Babar Azam. Rizwan is averaging more than 71 in the T20 format since 2021 and has been a brilliant opener. The middle order will be handled by Haider Ali, Shadab Khan, Asif Ali and Khushdil Shah or maybe Iftikhar Ahmad.

Muhammad Nawaz, as we have seen in the Asia Cup 2022, can score some important runs for his team if needed. Shadab Khan and Muhammad Nawaz are very fine all-rounders. Pakistani pace bowling is world famous these days.

With the return of Shaheen Afridi in the team, the pace bowling department of the Pakistani team will become more lethal. Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah and Muhammad Hasnain, all these bowlers can easily bowl above 140kph. This combination of lethal bowling and batting attack, makes Pakistan a very dangerous side in the T20 World Cup.

The Bangladeshi team has played 133 matches till to date, losing 85 matches and winning just 35, its record in the T20 format is horrendous. The win to lose ratio is 0.529. Throughout this journey, Bangladesh has been lacking power hitter and a good bowling attack.

Even their current opening players are weak and are unable to build an early partnership which could benefit the team. Now that Mushfiqur Raheem has announced his retirement after Asia Cup 2022, he isn’t in their current squad and the Bangladesh team would definitely be feeling his absence.

Currently, from the past 1 year, their top batter has been Afif Hussain in the T20 format. This man has 376 runs in 21 innings with an average of 20.88 and in the 2nd spot is Litton Das with 370 runs in 16 innings.

Though Mahmudullah is on the 3rd spot, he wasn’t included in the T20 squad for the T20 world Cup 2022. This might be a little bit surprising for everyone as he can bowl too and could have contributed on bad days for Bangladesh.  Shakib-al-Hassan, the captain, Mustafizur Rahman and Mahedi Hassan has been their top wicket taker from previous 1 year.  Shakib al Hassan is on the no 1 spot in the ICC ranking for the top all-rounders in T20 format. He is a fine batter too

Prediction

Pakistan are favorites for this contest as they have a dominating record against Bangladesh and are a very strong team in comparison to the Bangladeshi team.
