Michael Bracewell New Zealand

Michael Bracewell, a New Zealand cricketer, has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. After being accused of assault, he has now been banned from all forms of cricket for a year. What happened? Well, it seems that Michael was involved in an altercation outside a bar in Christchurch. He was arrested and then released on bail. However, just four days later he was charged with assault after allegedly punching another man in the face. This is not the first time that Michael has been in trouble with the law. In fact, he has a long history of disciplinary issues with the New Zealand Cricket Association (NZCA). Back in 2008, he was suspended from playing for six months after being found guilty of using obscene language and making lewd gestures at a game. Given his history, it’s no wonder that the NZCA has decided to ban Michael from all forms of cricket for one year. While this may seem like a harsh punishment, it’s better than letting him continue to tarnish his image and potentially hurt other people.

Michael Bracewell’s interest in cricket and his inclusion into the national side must not be a surprise for you all as some of his family members are related to cricket in one way or another. He is a left hand batter and when it comes to bowling, he is a right arm off-breaker.

Bracewell got his first contract from Wellington firebirds for the season 2018-19. In the Plunket Shield season 2019-20, Bracewell showed his brilliance by taking a five wickets haul in a match and made an impression on the selectors. Keeping in view his previous performance, he was again awarded the contract for the season 2020-21. The following year in 2022, Wellington scored 141 not out in a match making a record of scoring the highest runs scored in a T20 match.

In the mid July, he scored his maiden ODI century against Ireland and took a hat trick in the 3rd match of the T20I series showing how much talent he possesses and could be a next big player.
