Jan Nicolaas Frylinck signed with the Namibia Cricket Association (NCA) in the early 1990s, he was a complete unknown. Just 18 years old, Frylinck had to fight tooth and nail just to make the team. Early life and career of Jan Frylinck

Jan Frylinck was born on 1 September 1978 in Windhoek, Namibia. He started playing cricket at an early age and by the age of 12 he was playing for the local junior side. In 1997 he went to study at the University of Pretoria, where he played for the university team. He made his first-class debut for Northerns in 2001 and went on to play for them until 2006. That year he signed a three-year contract with Sunfoil Zwolle, and remained with them until 2010.

During that time he won two South African domestic trophies, as well as a couple of international caps. In 2012 he signed a one-year contract with English county side Somerset County Cricket Club and played there until 2016. Since then he has played for a number of other teams in Europe, including Dutch club Den Bosch and German side Bayreuth. Frylinck has also represented Namibia in international cricket, making his debut in 2003 and playing until 2008.

He has since returned to represent his country several times, most recently in 2018. Jan Frylinck is currently an assistant coach at Somerset County Cricket Club

Born on 8th October 1984 in Windhoek, Jan Frylinck started playing cricket at the age of 10. He played for his school team before turning professional in 2002 and making his debut for Namibia in 2004. Frylinck has since been a consistent performer for the national side, winning a number of awards including the ICC Associate Player of the Year in 2010. He made his Test debut against Zimbabwe in 2008 and has gone on to play 26 Tests, scoring 996 runs at an average of 34.72 with two centuries and eleven fifties. Frylinck also plays One Day Internationals (ODIs) for Namibia, averaging 33.56 with one century and six fifties.

In 2003, he moved to Johannesburg to study business economics at Wits University but continued to play club cricket for Western Province Cricket Club. After two years of study, Frylinck returned to Windhoek and resumed playing for Namibia A. Later that year, he made his international debut against Kenya in an ODI match.

 

Frylinck played regularly for Namibia A until 2006 when he was called up to the senior team for the first time to play a series against Zimbabwe. Since then, he has established himself as one of the most consistent players in Namibian cricketing history. His consistent performances at both domestic and international level have earned him many awards including Player of the Year three times (2007-2008-2009), captaincy of Namibia during their successful campaign at the 2015 ICC World Twenty

Frylinck was born in Windhoek, andplayed club cricket for Border United Cricket Club before making his senior representative debut for Northerns in the 2013–14 season. He made his List A debut later that season, playing alongside future Windhoek Wanderers teammate Jacques Kallis. He played a total of four matches for Northerns that season, as well as three matches for the Southern Rocks in the 2014–15 South African domestic T20 Challenge. In 2016, he transferred to Zambezia Cricket Club, where he played until the end of the 2017–18 season.

 

Frylinck made his international debut for Namibia during the 2017 ICC World Cup Qualifier against Kenya. He made two further appearances during qualification – both innings of a two-game series against Uganda which Namibia won by five wickets apiece. His first ODI appearance came just over a year later when he played an innings and 28 runs from 10 balls in a victory over Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club. His maiden half-century came against Kenya on 17 February 2018 at Nakuru County Stadium; he ended the match with 56 runs off 47 balls, helping Namibia to victory by six w
